Social Studies

The purpose of Social Studies is to assist in your development to function as a member of an increasingly complex society. Responsible and effective citizenship is the ultimate goal of Social Studies. Informed opinions and critical thinking techniques are developed from a range of sub disciplines of Social Studies including: Political Science and International Relations, Geography, History and Economics.

The Social Studies programming at Ross Sheppard includes Social Studies -1 and -2 streams, as well as the Knowledge and Employability stream of Social Studies. We also offer a specific section of the 10-2 and 20-2 streams for English Language Learners. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is offered as a pre-IB course at the grade 10 level and the full program in grade 11 and 12.
