  • Jonathan Doody Memorial Scholarship


    The Johnathan Doody Memorial Scholarship is preferred for emerging, first-year male University of Alberta students. There are three $800 scholarships available for the students who apply. The scholarship is preferred for students who have a strong commitment to both academics, volunteering, and extracurricular involvement. Johnathan Doody was an exceptional athlete, an inspiring student leader, a loving friend, and a talented scholar. Johnathan came to the University of Alberta to study engineering. In October of 1993, Johnathan was tragically killed in an automotive accident outside of his hometown. The scholarship is in honour of the excellence of Johnathan Doody and seeks to reward scholars who have demonstrated similar qualities in their time as high school students.

    Deadline: September 17th, 2022 

    We encourage students to apply in August to register early for interviews. Recipients will be selected in early October and all applicants will be contacted regarding the selections.

  • Storwell's Foster Children Bursary Opportunity

    • Storwell offers an annual bursary of $2,000 in support of foster children to help them attend post-secondary schools and to offer a hand up as they make their way forward in life.
    • The Edmonton region has been chosen as this year's focus area.
    • Applicants must have been foster children with an official Canadian foster care program and be enrolled as a full-time post-secondary student for 2022-23. Deadline: September 1, 2022

  • The Evan Grykuliak Memorial Scholarship 2022

    This community-sponsored scholarship recognizes a student registered at Ross Sheppard High School who is completing high school in the current year, models exemplary leadership qualities and participates in extracurricular activities and who will attend post-secondary studies. 
    The Evan Grykuliak Memorial Society (EGMS0) was formed as a result of the tragic passing of their dear friend, Evan, a grade 12 student of Ross Sheppard High school in November 2006. They have come together to create a legacy for Evan with the mission to aid in bullying prevention by encouraging strong community values and fostering the development of leadership and character building in youth. Their vision is the widespread creation of safe and inclusive communities by inspiring compassion and integrity in the leaders of tomorrow.

    1. Be registered at Ross Sheppard High School and be completing high school in the current year.
    2. Demonstrate financial need that warrants scholarship support.
    3. Meet the entrance requirements for the program of their choice, and have conditional acceptance at a post-secondary institution.
    4. Demonstrate exemplary leadership qualities that include: personal integrity, leadership potential, consistent dedication to make a community a better place and to demonstrate resilience and grit.

    Award Value: One award of $500
